Dania Omari

Certified Canadian Counsellor

Languages: English · Arabic

Dania is a compassionate, warm, and culturally responsive psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She works with children, adolescents, adult women, and families, providing therapy in both English and Arabic. As a therapist of Palestinian-Jordanian heritage, she understands the importance of culturally sensitive care and is committed to supporting clients from diverse backgrounds, including immigrant, multicultural, and Muslim communities.

Dania practices from a holistic biopsychosocial perspective, recognising the interconnected relationship between thoughts, emotions, physical wellbeing, relationships, culture, and life experiences. She integrates Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), tailoring treatment to each client's unique needs, strengths, and goals. Her approach combines evidence-based interventions with empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and respected.

Her areas of practice include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, cultural adjustment, life transitions, and stress management. She also incorporates strengths-based, attachment-informed, and trauma-informed approaches to help clients develop resilience, gain insight, and build practical coping skills.

Dania believes that healing occurs through a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel safe and empowered to explore their experiences, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change. Her goal is to help clients deepen their self-understanding, strengthen their emotional wellbeing, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
